Down an Old Way

Down an Old Road
He is walking down an old road
that doesn’t seem to end
all trees are turning yellow
the sunny days are spent

Begone, long gone, and walk away
the sunny days are spent

And shadows aren’t changing
the light is petrified
his longing eyes are empty
there’s noone by his side

Begone, long gone, and walk away
there’s noone by his side

So long, my loved and lost one
he whispers silently
so long, for now and evermore
you are a part of me

Begone, long gone, and walk away
you are a part of me

A teardrop wets the dirtroad
it sparkles in the sand
and dissapears from sight and mind
like hope in vanishing land

Begone, long gone, and walk away
like hope in vanishing lands
