Thomas Verster, posing by the beach
Seong and Beethoven fishing.
Thomas walking out to the goats Jose and Maahria who are happily eating grass in the background.

Evening light with pink clouds in the bay of Cagalandia
Cagalandia (In english it means
Thomas Verster himself.
The kitchen where only hot water streamed from the faucet.
The jungle of Cagalandia. A path was made to reach the far left point during my last week at the place.
Another morning view of the bay of Cagalandia and the old fish net which we improved and replaced.
The entrance to Cagalandia can be seen on the left. A usual pile of dry wood can be seen on the background on the right.
Early morning view of the bay of Cagalandia.
Small rests of rope hanging waiting to be used.
The view from my tent towards the bay of Cagalandia. In the foreground can be seen Darren, Beethoven (the dog) and Johnny). The No Crab Cove is situated at the top right of the bay. We caught plenty of no crabs there.
The mountains just before we arrived to Cagalandia
Looking back on Raul Marin sailing with Jaime towards Cagalandia
Hitchhiking from La Junta to Raul Marin we had the most magnificent evening light
The view from the port
Sunset at the beach of Chaitén
Shot through a car window.
Getting a ride back in a cap over the dirt road. This is generally what the nature around coyhaique looks like on a sunny day.
The edge of lago Pamplona
This is one of the most picturesque and untouched lakes I've seen in a long time. The photo doesn't do it any justice
Lago Pamplona
And the waterfall keeps on falling
... And falling.
Unmarked on the map and to our general surprise we suddenly came upon a waterfall falling some 70 meters down a canyon.
Trees with long light green strips of moss dangling from the branches
After taking shoes off and crossing the stream barefooted, we found out there was no path on the other side
Dead trees and mountains near coyhaique

More of the same waves
Some bird
Illuminated clouds and waves
The wave pattern formed by the ship on an almost perfectly still ocean.
Last sunshine three hours from Chacabuco
Water at angle
The ferry was an odd mixture of a trucker boat and a cruise ship

A group of penguins are heading down to the water in the middle of the picture
One penguin heading for the water
Every once in a while they would jump in, but most of the time they just stood around
A penguin group meeting
A group of magellan penguins and humbold penguins are taking a look at the water conditions
The penguin boat is being pushed around
Taken from the bed of a pick up truck after a couple of friendly locals decided to give us a ride home. We rode 100km in the open air, relaxing our legs and enjoying the wind.
A dammed lake served as our companion as we walked on a dirt road hoping that there might be a car passing us to pick us up.
The tents in the foreground to the left puts a bit of scale in this picture
Either this bridge was never done, or someone felt they needed the deck for their house.
Frozen mud forming icecrystals
The unknown white peak gathered a small cloud as the last sunlight reached it.
An old an thorny bush.
Evening light on the valley where we had been spending half of our day.
El cerro Marmolejo goes up to the right, reaching 5900 outside of the photo.

More colors of the Andes. The white mountain in the background reaches 6000 meters. I don't know it's name.
Colors of the Andes
A valley formed by glaciers and geothermic activity
Another inedible cauliflower (I tried)
After reaching the pass at 4300 meters we sit down and let the surrounding landscapes seep in. This photo is taken a bit after a short descend down to 3500 meters.
Mineral deposits can be seen on the loose flanks of the mountain sides. The dusty white and red colors are caused by sulfuric sands
A small stream running down the mountain side
The rocks were covered in a thick layer of ice
Ice leaping up the grass straws
Cauliflower and moss in the early morning
And cloudy it was that day
Ice is best served on a cloudy day
Ice and clouds
More spikes and glacier
Ice
Spiky glacier. It's much bigger than it looks in this photo.
Standing by the glacier looking the other way
The front end of the glacier
Right next to a glacier we found a red mountain.
A hint of sunlight could be seen in a particularly happy moment
Basalt columns.
On a few occasions during the first half of the day, the clouds would drift away, revealing the landscape surrounding us.
We didn't know it by then, but the cloud movements turned out to be vertical. Next morning we couldn't see more than 5 meters in front of us.
The last light of the day
Momentarily the clouds unveiled the mighty volcano San Jose, looming over us at 5900 meters
