Even the ear rings matched
Many of the groups had small kids dancing along in the back, trying their best to follow along
Unhappy guy
A small kid all dressed up with pseudo north american head gear. I never figured out just how much of the costumes were based on tradition, and how much was invented for the occasion.
Pretty girls twirling around
Gypsy costumes
A tired musician
The hat was decorated with a cross shaped of leds
A typical mask from one of the groups
Most dancing groups spend the year in between each festival on sewing costumes and making hats and masks
A small group is dancing in a back alley of Tirana, far from the main square where most of the dances are taking place.
The seats in the old theater.
Behind the curtain of the old theater of Iquique, where the pulleys are lined up to hoist stage equipment up and down.
Typical Tocopillan people

Keeping an eye out for the spoils of the local fishing industry
Parts of this place were still in use
An old mining dock
Supposedly, this is where the druggies hang out.
The Copacabana of Tocopilla
The only birds in sights were these big black vultures sitting everywhere.

Me and Ruthie
Ruthies and the people who lived in her flat
The glacier again, now a bit later in the evening. This was shortly before we learned that our tent had left us to go swimming.
The last bit of light on the mountains
Ruthie
A glacier far away
Right as we had come to terms with the clouded afternoon sky, the setting sun illuminated the mountain from underneath the cloud cover
Trucks and buses making their way up the mountain
We got picked up by a truck, and slowly made our way up the 29 hairpin turns carrying several tons of cherries. We were jumping off shortly after, while the driver continued towards Brazil.
A pile of old flowers
Angel Ramirez Abarca on lot 1515
The sections with graves more than 10 years old were not that well kept.

Getting ready to jump in. (By the way, this is without zoom. We were right next to them)
They look so fuzzy and clumsy on land, but the moment they jump in the water, they turn in to very elegant creatures
Sometimes it's just easier to look by leaning your head backwards
Run away! Run away!
I never saw how they got up there.
This is me, holding a crab in my hand which I later killed by tearing off the claws and ripping open the shell from behind. It was terrible. I'm still traumatized, but I had to eat something.
More seeping clouds together with the coastline of Cagalandia
Low and grey clouds seeping out through the mountains.
The main square of Cagalandia with the kitchen to the right, the food chamber to the left and a lot of buckets all around.
A view of the coast line some 40 minutes of paddling from Cagalandia towards Raul Marin. Behind the far away mountains, the ocean is hiding.
Two specimens posing
A flock of sea lions, started by us approaching in the canoe, quickly jump in to the water
A big sea lion lazily resting on the shore
Putting out the new fishing net. Thomas to the right, Seong in the middle and Darren in the front of the canoe.
The dolphins were out that morning
It had been raining heavily the days before, and the river behind me was creating waves as it was flowing out in to the bay
The pillow of clouds slowly disintegrate
One exceptionally beautiful morning with a heavy layer of clouds as a pillow on top of the morning light coming in underneath
The view of Cagalandia in the afternoon sun. It doesn't look like much from here.
The roots of the jungle are extending out several meters beyond the rock base
