Hiking in high Andes

Day 1 of a hike with Filip near the volcano San Jose

We should have crossed the river about here, but instead we spent two hours doing a detour.

The sulfuric mountains of the valley we had been spending the day looking at
Someone was putting on a show behind the rocks
The evening light found it's way underneath the clouds
A bit of rain mixed with the last hour of sunlight gave us a nice rainbow next to our campsite
Momentarily the clouds unveiled the mighty volcano San Jose, looming over us at 5900 meters
The last light of the day
We didn't know it by then, but the cloud movements turned out to be vertical. Next morning we couldn't see more than 5 meters in front of us.
