Altos de Lircay

First semester in Santiago

October 30th to November 1st, 2010


First camp in the evening after we found a suitable spot without snow
A lot of snow had fallen the day before, returning nature back to a strange state in between winter and spring
2 days later we walked back in between those trees with all the snow completely gone.
The last sunshine hits the treetops in the valley beneath a dark cold mountainside
The view out towards the central valley and the setting sun
Scattered clouds gather as I brush my teeth
As we gained altitude, the snow became deeper and less slushy
The valley on the other side, showing how much snow had melted since yesterday evening
I really want to return in the winter and ski-tour in this area
More snow making shoes wet and eyes red and skin burned and paths muddy.
A bug was watching us pass
One last look out over the valley before we walk down the slope, take a swim in the river and head back to Talca
