Dog Sledding

Winter holiday on Greenland

A trip to Greenland in the winter isn't complete without going out on a dog sled, so we went the whole family on two sleds led by two local hunters. It was -15 degrees celcius in the morning and it got so cold sitting still on the sled that I had to get up and run along.

Karen is sitting in front of me, watching as the dogs carry us over the hills.
The eskimo hunter who owned the sled is sitting and keeping track of the dogs.
We ended up at a glacier where my dad and I had been the day before on skis.
By mistake I had the camera on a slow shutter.
Dogs cooling off after running by rolling around in the ice.
A very thin layer of ice had already formed on the water.
